Whiting Farms Heritage Hackle Rooster Cape
The Heritage line from Whiting consists of a wide range of natural colorations ranging from common to rare and unique variants. Each cape/saddle is one of a kind and individually graded. As a result, the hackle sizes can also vary in use from the smallest midge dry flies to larger attractor and terrestrial patterns.
These are all Grade 1
The following notes for each individually graded cape. The one you will receive is the ACTUAL cape in the photo:
#1 Dark Barred Ginger: One of the nicer capes we've seen in this popular coloration. Beautiful long and thin feathers, with a ton of midge sizes.
#2 Grizzly Variant: Grizzly feathers mixed with a few brown, furnace, and even black. A wide range of sizes mostly from Sz 20 and up. This neck will have plenty of uses.
#3 Unique Natural Brown: A classic medium brown shade for the majority of the neck with some of the larger feathers towards the base consisting of a dun center with brown tips, almost a "dun furnace". Many long, midge size, feathers down to Size 24 as well as a variety of larger dry fly feathers further down the neck. A special cape for the dry fly enthusiast.
