Mole crabs are a favorite food of the striped bass. They live in sandy spots, both oceanside and in calm bay waters. Only move the fly in tiny hops, as mole crabs are great diggers, but not great swimmers. Pull some of the rabbit hair off the hide to make the fly smaller and/or sink faster. You can also trim the legs shorter. Tied on a #1 Mustad C68 with either
small or medium dumbbell eyes.
