PFG Hexagenia Nymph
A must have for fishing the Hex hatch! This is a nymph pattern.
These can be effective June through September, but the legendary hatches are in late June and early July.
Fish them around dusk on cool cloudy days, or into the evening when they really pop off.
Use on slow stretches of rivers and silty flats on lake bottoms.
Due to their large size H. limbata nymphs have a difficult time with emergence and often spend several minuets on the surface struggling to be released from their nymphal casing. This is when they are most susceptible to trout who key in on the large morsel.
